A disease is an abnormal condition that affects the body of an organism, typically with specific symptoms or signs.

In families, it is more likely to find multiple members complaining of the same kind of disease. These diseases are caused by germs.

Germs are tiny organisms (living things) that may cause diseases. They are so small and sneaky that they can enter our bodies unnoticed. In fact, germs are so tiny that we need to use a microscope to see them.

Characteristics of Viruses

  • They are the smallest microbes.
  • They consist of strands of genetic information with a protein coat.
  • Antibodies do not affect them.

Characteristics of Bacteria

  • They are larger than viruses.
  • They are living cells found in most places.
  • They grow and reproduce rapidly.
  • Antibodies do affect them.

  • Eating contaminated food
