COURAGE

Courage

Courage is defined as showing strength when a person would otherwise be afraid. When a person is courageous, others can depend on them during difficult times. Courage can also be defined as the ability to do something good without fear or favor. Some people find it difficult to stand by the truth when they feel they cannot get what they want. They tell lies or keep quiet when they should stand up for the truth. Such people are called moral cowards and are not very useful to society. Courage requires overcoming fear. Every community needs courageous people. Society needs people who will support what is good and condemn what is bad, judges who will uphold justice without fear, politicians who will stand up for the truth without asking for bribes, students who speak the truth and defend their rights without fear, and agencies and institutions that promote public morality.
