  • Sound boards: Speakers and a printed circuit board that adds digital sound reproduction capabilities to a computer are essential for using multimedia software. Many have MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) capabilities so that users can create their own music.
  • Modem: A modem can be used to send information over the internet and telephone lines.
